This 3.00ct Teal Sapphire from Madagascar was selected by The Sapphire Merchant for its beautiful greenish blue colour, silky appearance, and generous size.
The stone has a rich teal tone, with blue and green blending together to create a deep, ocean-like colour. A subtle silkiness gives the sapphire a soft, almost velvety appearance, adding a gentle glow to its natural depth. It is a lovely example of how beautiful teal sapphires can be without needing intense saturation or overly bright colour.
Its oval cut gives the stone an elegant, balanced shape, while the combination of colour and silk creates an understated beauty that is particularly appealing in person.
Completely natural and unheated, this sapphire retains the colour it formed with in the earth. At 3.00ct, it offers a substantial size for a custom engagement ring, pendant, or bespoke jewellery design.
Buy this natural unheated Madagascar teal sapphire as a loose gemstone or custom design a jewellery piece with The Sapphire Merchant.

Sapphires of Madagascar
Off the southeastern coast of Africa, the gem-rich island of Madagascar holds rare treasures deep within its earth. Colonised by the French in 1897, the island's potential for precious gemstones was known. However, it wasn't until the rare discovery of blue sapphires of exceptional quality in 1994, far south of the island in the district of Andranondambo, that the world's attention was truly captured. This discovery has significantly impacted the gemstone industry, adding a new chapter to Madagascar's rich gemstone heritage. Subsequently, in 1998, the Ilakaka deposit was unearthed, producing world-class sapphires in a mesmerising array of colours.
